Associations: International vs. Regional

Global Associations

International Institute for Forecasters (IIF)
The IIF is an organisation of practitioners and researchers.

Institute of Business Forecasting (IBF)
The IBF is a forecasting association focussing purely on forecasting practitioners and their problems.

International Neural Network Society (INNS)
Association of scientists, engineers, students, and others seeking to learn about and advance our understanding of the modelling of behavioural and brain processes, and the application of neural modelling concepts to technological problems.

Association for Information Systems (AIS)

Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS)

International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS)

International Associations

European Neural Network Society (ENNS)
The ENNS is an association of scientists, engineers, students, and others seeking to learn about and advance our understanding of the modelling of behavioural and brain processes and to apply neural modelling concepts to problems relevant in many different domains.

Asian Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA)

The APNNA  is for promoting more active interaction of researchers, scientists, and industry professional who are working in the Neural Network and related fields in the Asia Pacific region.

National Associations

Italian Neural Network Society (SIREN)
Siren promotes and develops studies, researches and seminars in the field of Neural Networks. SIREN's aim is that of favouring the development of an adequate cultural environment in order to qualify more extensively the Italian presence at the international level.

SNN logo

Dutch Foundation for Neural Networks (SNN)

The SNN is a university based non-profit organization that stimulates basic and applied research on neural networks in the Netherlands.

Japanese Neural Network Society (JNNS)

The JNNS  was funded on July 1988, and is an academic society in regards to Brain and Nerve Networks, Neural Networks and Neuro Computer.

Swedish Society of Learning Systems (SSLS)

The SSLS originated from the SNNS Swedish Neural Network Society  aims to increase the knowledge about artificial neural networks (ANN) in Swedish industry so that the effective use of ANN will improve the competitiveness of the Swedish trade and industry.

NEuroNet (discontinued since 2001)
The NEuroNet is the European "Network of Excellence" in Neural Networks, funded by the European Union. Aim: to promote development and technology transfer in the field of Neural Networks in Europe.

The MLNet  is a "network of excellence" in Machine Learning that is funded by the European Community to coordinate research, development and application of Machine Learning, Case-Based Reasoning and Knowledge Acquisition in the European Community.

Neural Computing Applications Forum (NCAF)

The NCAF aims to promote widespread exploitation of neural computing by providing a focus for neural network practitioners disseminating information on all aspects of neural computing encouraging close co-operation between industrialists and academics.

International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA)

The ISBA was founded in 1992 to promote the development and application of Bayesian statistical theory and methods useful in the solution of theoretical and applied problems in science, industry and government. By sponsoring and organizing meetings and other activities the ISBA provides a focal point for those interested in Bayesian inference and its applications.

NeuroComputing Web

The NCW service provides a comprehensive range of on-line, hypermedia services and resources for UK industry to exploit Neural computing technology. It is a part of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

 SPIE (Society of Photonic Engineers)

The SPIE is a non-profit professional society dedicated to advancing research, engineering and applications in optics, photonics, imaging and electronics.

American Association of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI)

Related International Associations (Engineering etc.)

International Association of Science and Technology for Development (IASTED)

World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS)
The WSEAS (The World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society) is a world, scientific-engineering, academic, non-profit organization that promotes the development and the unified consideration of new mathematical methods and computational techniques as well as their applications in science and engineering. Also, WSEAS supports, in general, the research and the diffusion of the scientific and engineering knowledge, especially in the areas of mathematics, computer science and electrical engineering as well as their interaction to other sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, earth sciences, space sciences etc...)..
