CALL FOR PAPERS

2nd Special Session on “Computational Intelligence for Business Intelligence

http://www.neural-forecasting.com/conferences/ic-ai05/cfp_ic-ai05.htm

@ The 2005 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence

Part of the 2005 International Multiconference in Computer Science and Computer Engineering

Monte Carlo Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

27-30 June 2005

The world's largest gathering of researchers in computer science & engineering, applied computing and information systems will be held in June 2005. You are invited to submit a draft paper for the 2nd special session on the application of Computational Intelligence methods for Business Intelligence at the 2005 IC-AI, one of 30 research conferences.

Business intelligence (BI) represents a broad category of applications, technologies and methods to enhance managerial decision making in public and corporate enterprises from operational to strategic level. Methods from Computational Intelligence (CI), including neural, fuzzy and evolutionary computation, support vector machines as well as particle swarms, artificial immune systems etc. have proven increasingly effective in supporting these decisions. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Please see instructions below.

Topics of Interest

Methods (include but are not limited to):

§         artificial neural networks (all paradigms)

§         support vector machines  (all paradigms)

§         fuzzy,  evolutionary & hybrid methods

§         particle swarms & related methods

§         artificial immune systems etc.

Sectors (include but are not limited to):

§         corporate business

§         public sector

Applications (include but are not limited to):

§         business forecasting & demand planning

§         time series prediction

§         knowledge discovery in databases

§         data mining (temporal & structural)

o        regression

o        classification

o        association

o        clustering / segmentation

§         Optimisation

Draft Paper

Prospective authors are invited to submit a draft paper (IEEE style) in PDF-format via email to the special session organiser by the due date. The first page of the draft paper must include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address, telephone & Fax number for each author, indicating the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted) & a maximum of 5 keywords. Papers will be refereed for originality, significance, clarity and soundness by at least two independent reviewers in the topical area. Categories of accepted daft papers include:

  • Regular Research Papers (RRP - 7-page IEEE-style, publication in the proceedings, 20-minute presentation)

  • Regular Research Reports (RRR – 7-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Poster Presentation)

  • Short Research Papers (SRP - 4-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Poster Presentation)

  • Posters (PST - 1-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings, Poster Presentation)

Camera Ready Papers

The length of the camera ready papers accepted will be limited to 7 IEEE style pages. Standard IEEE templates & typing instructions, copyright forms, conference registration forms etc. will be supplied upon acceptance. After the conference, selected papers will be considered for publication in appropriate journals and special issues. All conference proceedings are considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (e.g.: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC ...). Presentation time and form will be limited to 20 minutes depending on the submission category.

Conference Information

The 2004 IMCSE attracted over 1500 researchers from 78 countries and over 200 papers at the IC-AI’04. It is anticipated that the 2005 IMCSE will attract over 2000 participants. The 2005 event is held right after the 2005 World Congress in Applied Computing (WCAC'05) composed of another 14 major conferences, allowing a total of 30 multidisciplinary conferences!!! Attendees will have full access to all IMCSE conferences, sessions & tracks. Both multiconferences are organised by the World Academy of Science www.world-academy-of-science.org

·       Each event is a premier conference for presentation of advances in their respective subjects.

·       All conferences will be held simultaneously (following the WCAC’05) @ Monte Carlo Resort

·       Each conference will have its own proceedings.
